  • Full-time appointment on a tenurable basis.
  • Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

UWA School of Agriculture and Environment is located in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. Surrounded by a wealth of agricultural, natural and mining resources, our location allows us to produce innovative research with worldwide application. The School is looking to build further capacity in the area of soil science and biotechnology with the view to developing innovative technologies that will benefit environmental and agricultural science and the grand challenge of global change.

About the opportunity

  • Undertake independent world‑class teaching and unit coordination in biotechnology and environmental science degree programs
  • Lead new teaching initiatives in the biotechnology degree programs
  • Provide high quality supervision of Honours, Masters or PhD student research projects
  • Develop and lead the research proposals for major initiatives from national and international funding agencies, industry and government partners

About you

  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline
  • Extensive experience with large data projects in soil science
  • Evidence or willingness to develop skills for world‑class teaching and mentoring in the relevant discipline
  • An excellent track record of original research and/or industry impact in agriculture relevant to the position, including high‑quality publications
  • Strong track record of successful supervision or co‐supervision of Honours, Masters and PhD student research projects/dissertations
