Job summary

An educational organization in Tetbury is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will provide IT support across various devices, maintain systems, and assist with infrastructure projects. Job Overview

The Athelstan Trust is a successful and growing multi‑academy trust consisting of six secondary schools and four primary schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. We currently employ over 750 people and educate 4,500 pupils and plan to expand further over the coming years.

Role Description

If you are an experienced IT Technician looking for a fresh challenge, we are looking for a Senior IT Technician with proven experience to join our team and support our users. This role will be primarily based at one school in the Athelstan Trust, but will require travel to other schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide IT support for a variety of devices including Windows computers, Windows laptops, iPads, MFDs, interactive whiteboards and interactive TVs.
  • Maintain and support systems such as Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
  • Perform Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft 365 administration tasks.
  • Assist with the Trust’s virtual server infrastructure, core switch upgrades, wireless network extensions, online backup systems, centralised managed printing systems and client device refresh cycle.
  • Travel to other schools within the Trust as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician, preferably in primary or secondary educational environments.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
Additional Requirements
  • Must undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Independent and flexible with willingness to make reasonable adjustments.
