Senior Indirect Procurement Manager - Europe

Location: Kent (Hybrid Working)

Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be representing our global FMCG client in the search for a highly experienced Senior Indirect Procurement Manager - Europe. This is a key senior role responsible for shaping the indirect procurement strategy across the UK and Europe, driving innovation, operational excellence, and long-term cost efficiency.

The Role

As Senior Indirect Procurement Manager, you will own regional category strategies, supplier governance, and the delivery of measurable value across a wide range of indirect spend areas. Acting as the primary procurement business partner for European stakeholders, you will influence at senior levels across multiple sites and business units.

You will work closely with the Associate Director of 3rd Party Manufacturing & EU Procurement, taking a strategic lead in supplier management, cost optimisation, and regional procurement transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead indirect procurement across Europe, overseeing category management, operations, and strategy execution.
  • Develop and embed a regional procurement strategy aligned with global objectives.
  • Act as the senior procurement partner to European functional leaders.
  • Mentor and develop procurement capability across regional teams.
  • Deliver significant cost savings, improved efficiencies, and strategic sourcing benefits.
  • Manage annual spend across categories including Marketing, MRO, Facilities, IT/Telecom, HR, Professional Services, and Logistics.
  • Build and execute a 5-year category roadmap supporting growth and profitability.
  • Own key KPIs: savings delivery, supplier performance, compliance, and working capital.
  • Lead high-value negotiations and multi-year agreements to ensure competitive and sustainable outcomes.
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships to drive innovation and resilience.
  • Manage performance through structured reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Promote supplier diversity, ESG, and responsible sourcing.
  • Partner with Operations, Marketing, Sales, HR, IT, Finance, and Supply Chain to optimise total cost of ownership.
  • Align with global procurement teams to ensure consistency in strategies and processes.
  • Represent procurement in cross-border initiatives, integrations, and strategic projects.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policy, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks to protect business continuity.
  • Implement digital procurement tools and analytics to enhance visibility and decision-making.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
  • Strong progressive procurement experience, plus a minimum 3 years in a senior regional role.
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated success delivering multimillion-euro savings and category transformation.
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, negotiation, and contracts.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and commercial acumen.
  • CIPS qualified (or equivalent) preferred; advanced degree advantageous.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar eProcurement systems desirable.
Working Pattern & Benefits
  • Hybrid: 40% office (Tuesdays & Wednesdays), 40% home, 20% flexible.
  • Hours: Flexible working with core hours 10am-3pm; 37.5-hour week with occasional additional office attendance required.
