A leading utility company in the East Midlands is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist. You will provide hydrogeological expertise to support innovative water projects aimed at combating climate change. Responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders, supervising borehole construction, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Hydrogeology and experience in environmental legislation.

Here at Severn Trent Water, we are on a very exciting journey with our Borehole Programme, we are leading the industry with our end‑to‑end in‑house design capability, through to direct procurement and supervision of drillers.
Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for new members to join our CCS Water Treatment Hydrogeology team at the Senior Hydrogeologist level, although other levels may be considered relative to experience.

Reporting to the Team Manager of the CCS Hydrogeology team, you will provide and deliver hydrogeological expertise to support the STW AMP8 programme, delivering quality designs that are efficient, innovative, to agreed programme milestones; and compliant with all relevant STW company strategies, policies, procedures and standards.
Your main duties will include (but are not limited to):
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly understood and that and solutions meet the business objectives and are within approved budgets. You will drive H&S, undertake risk management, challenge designs and ensure that appropriate support is provided to the programme team so that the solution is delivered efficiently, on‑time and in‑line with specifications.
Ideally qualified with Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology (or similar); or an engineering degree with significant experience in the methods and techniques required.
We will expect you have a good level of knowledge, understanding and experience in:
You will ideally have experience working with a diverse team of different skillsets, with experience of implementing CDM regulations in the design process, with an understanding of risk management in construction and operational design. You will require significant stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
You will be a forward‑thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.
