Job summary

A leading food company is looking for a Senior HR Advisor to support its manufacturing sites in Evesham and Worcester. The role requires managing employee relations, coaching managers, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Ideally, applicants should have CIPD Level 5 qualification and at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and be proactive in their approach to HR interventions. The position is site-based with moments of travel to other locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an HR Advisor role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law, ER processes, and people management best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site-level ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, long-term sickness, and performance management.
  • Coach line managers through people processes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies.

Senior HR Advisor

Location: Evesham & Worcester (with occasional travel to Battersea)
Salary: £36,000–£40,000 per annum

About the Role

Harvey & Brockless, part of The Compleat Food Group, is looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to support our manufacturing and distribution sites in Evesham and Worcester, with occasional travel to Battersea. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone passionate about driving employee engagement, leading on employee relations activity, and coaching managers to support a positive workplace culture. You’ll be a key member of the site HR team, supporting the delivery of our people strategy while ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Manage site‑level ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, long‑term sickness, and performance management
    • Analyse trends and proactively recommend improvements
    • Support consultation processes such as TUPE, redundancy, and changes to terms and conditions
    • Regularly engage with colleagues on‑site through welfare interviews, HR walkarounds, and team meetings
    • Support community, charity, and wellbeing initiatives across the sites
    • Promote the use of Speak Up and effective grievance resolution
  • Coaching & Manager Support
    • Coach line managers through people processes (e.g. investigations, absence reviews, RTW interviews, occupational health referrals)
    • Assist in delivering our internal leadership and development programmes
    • Support succession planning and talent mapping discussions at site level
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Escalate complex cases appropriately to the HRBP or legal support where needed
    • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
    • Support with SEDEX preparation and audit readiness
    • Carry out internal audits including right to work checks and modern slavery prevention
    • Maintain and update HR systems, trackers, and reports
  • General
    • Support and step up for the HRBP during periods of absence
    • Provide support across sites where required, flexing between advisory and admin duties
    • Be involved in internal audit or TACCP teams where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an HR Advisor role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law, ER processes, and people management best practices
  • Proactive and visible – comfortable working across shifts and being present on‑site
  • Confident communicator with strong influencing and coaching skills
