Full time hours on a temporarybasis

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and prepare responses for housing benefit and council tax reduction appeals, including drafting detailed submissions for tribunals.
  • Represent the organisation at First-tier Tribunal hearings, presenting cases professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure all decisions comply with current legislation, case law, and internal policies.
  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues on complex benefit issues and appeals.
  • Analyse and interpret regulations, guidance, and case law to ensure accurate decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records and case files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including solicitors, welfare rights advisors, and tribunal services.
  • Contribute to service improvements by identifying trends and recommending changes to processes and policies.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior staff to develop their knowledge and skills.
