Senior Fire Modelling Engineer

To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. SOCOTEC's Fire Engineering and Safety teams provide an award-winning, flexible and forward-thinking approach, as well as a high level of technical capability, providing our clients with cost-effective and practical solutions for the full range of fire safety problems.

We're looking for a Senior Fire Modelling Engineer to provide a very high level of service across all fire engineering sectors. This role involves liaising with clients, preparing fee proposals, and managing projects from inception to completion. You will mentor fire modelling engineers and review fire modelling work prepared by others. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing technical engineering analysis such as CFD modelling using programs including FDS/PyroSim, Pathfinder, and B-Risk
• Developing and reviewing fire modelling reports and models
• Conducting third-party review and design verification
• Managing client relationships and identifying business development opportunities

• At least 5 years of UK experience in Fire Modelling with extensive CFD modelling expertise
• A postgraduate fire modelling qualification (Master's or PhD) and a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (fire safety, aerospace, mechanical, or similar field)
• Professional registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, and membership with IFE, CABE, CIBSE, or similar
• Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and design guidance including Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974, and NFPA standards
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work reliably and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
