THE COMPANY:
We have been instructed by an international Private, corporate & specialist finance bank who has their European hub in London. They provide a range of corporate banking, Private banking and real estate services.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) and KYC reviews for high-risk and complex clients, including corporate, institutional, and trust structures.
- Review and sign off on KYC/CDD files, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
- Draft and review detailed financial crime risk assessments, incorporating transaction behaviour, adverse media, and other risk indicators.
- Conduct and oversee investigations into adverse media, sanctions, and PEP screening results, providing clear recommendations and escalation where necessary.
- Identify and assess financial crime risk triggers, conducting in-depth investigations using open-source intelligence and specialist databases.
- Provide expert analysis on financial crime risks, including potential mitigating and aggravating factors, and support decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the development of management information (MI) and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Financial Crime Officers on strategic projects, including remediation initiatives, policy updates, and control enhancements.
- Actively contribute to digital transformation initiatives, particularly those impacting ongoing due diligence (ODD) and event-driven reviews
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in financial crime compliance, with a focus on KYC/CDD, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Proven experience in managing AML remediation projects and working with complex customer types in a financial institution.
- Previous experience with complex onboarding and high-risk customers.
- Strong background in screening for PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media.
- Proven ability to apply CDD and EDD effectively.
- Expertise in validating Source of Wealth (SoW) and Source of Funds (SoF) for high-risk customers.
