Job description

Are you an ambitious financial professional, looking to join a team where you will be empowered and supported to develop your skills and experience so that you can progress your career within the organisation?

You will join a compact and skilled Operational Planning & Control team, where you will jointly own the varied Financial Planning & Control calendar requirements across Sony Electronics Europe, and utilise your understanding of the financial/operational outputs of the business to drive results in conjunction with neighboring cross-functional departments.

You should be someone with a credible finance background, from operational levels up to more strategic / business partnering more recently in your career, ideally within a large international organisation where you have adapted styles to suit corporate cultures. You should thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous and creative environment, where you will enjoy the challenges of presenting figures and solutions to business leaders through both formal and informal channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Month-end close including final sign off (in liaison with Sony Global Finance Accounting)
  • Post close detailed analysis and compilation of financial bridges, presented to management and submitted to Tokyo
  • Budget and Forecast execution within Sony Europe framework, owning the process and driving the results
  • Business Partnering with department heads and budget holders, cost management and decision support
  • Owning the allocation of costs to reporting units process in liaison with BI team
  • Maintenance and control of the table of authority
  • Co-ordinate and manage controlling processes for fixed costs.
  • Corporate projects for increased efficiencies
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP ERP (FI-CO module principally) required and ideally of BW/BO systems
  • Fully qualified - CIMA preferably, or ACA/ACCA
  • Experience of working across a European business within a multi-cultural environment
  • Good understanding of core Finance & Accounting process areas preferred
