About The Role:

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

This role is based in Ipswich, with regular travel to sites within London.

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee all the financial and commercial aspects of the major client account, including client relationship management, contract variations negotiation and implementation, financial oversight and risk management. It also involves leading a team of Finance Coordinators, ensuring compliance with financial standards while driving profitability and customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial management within the Facilities Management industry, strong accounting experience, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Manage and report on the underlying financial records for contracts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
  • Assist the Commercial Finance Director with the month‑end reporting process, including taking the lead on preparation of audit files and serving as a key liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders such as sector finance teams and contract managers.
  • Prepare client reports and focus on building constructive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at all contract locations.
  • Proactively identify and drive insightful contractual reports and financial data analytics using Power BI, Dynamics and other software.
  • Conduct commercial pricing reviews and reconcile against actual financial performance to ensure priced margins are achieved and maximised.
  • Successfully manage the Finance Coordinators team, lead and develop the team, promote training and staff development, and liaise with training providers for professional qualification training.
  • Drive continuous finance and operational process improvement across all finance procedures, adopting best practice.
  • Ensure balance‑sheet accounts are fully reconciled to underlying records and risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner.
  • Maintain robustness and completeness of financial records so quarterly declarations to Group are compliant.
  • Act as a key contact for completion and reporting to the Central Finance Functions.
  • Provide collaborative support to shared services team leaders.
Previous experience desirable/essential for technical competence of the role:
  • Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience managing a finance team in a medium‑large organisation in a similar role.
  • Experience working on large contracts within a Facilities Management company is essential.
  • Proven track record of reviewing financial accounts, postings and reports.
  • Year‑end audit experience, including managing requirements to meet a strict reporting timetable and acting as primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics software is essential.
  • Good knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, IFRS.
