Neway International are seeking a Senior Family Engagement Officer to join our client based with the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Location: London Borough of Hillingdon

Hours: 36 per week, Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:15

Start Date: 05/01/2026

End Date: 31/03/2026

Pay Rates: £17.33 PAYE / £22.52 Umbrella

The Role

As a Senior Family Engagement Officer, you will be the first point of contact for families accessing services. You will manage front‑of‑house operations, provide advice and guidance, and build strong relationships with families and community members. This role is central to ensuring families feel supported and connected to local services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage families at the point of entry, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Manage the reception area, greeting visitors and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and visitors.
  • Handle enquiries via telephone, email, and face‑to‑face from families, professionals, and agencies.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance on childcare, health, benefits, and financial matters, signposting to appropriate services.
  • Collect and report feedback from centre users to the centre coordinator.
  • Maintain the centre calendar and diary, ensuring training and meeting schedules are up to date.
  • Input and update registration and attendance data in the children’s centre database.
  • Ensure sensitive family records are stored and maintained in line with Council Data Protection policies.
Candidate Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade C/level 4 or above.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in an office environment, including database use.
  • Speed and accuracy in data inputting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and care.
