JOB TITLE: Senior Enterprise Architect (Modern Workplace)

LOCATIONS: Manchester or Leeds

SALARY: £90,000 - £106,400

HOURS: Full time, 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the strategic direction of our Colleague technology landscape. In this pivotal role, you'll shape and influence architectural vision, drive major transformation programmes, and ensure our solutions align with business strategy and future needs. You'll provide thought leadership, mentor other architects, and play a key part in setting technology direction across the bank.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the definition and delivery of Colleague Technology Domain technology strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Principal Architect.
  • Set and maintain architecture roadmaps, guardrails, and patterns, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals.
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for major transformation initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Represent architecture in executive forums, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across business, engineering, and technology teams.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, bringing innovative thinking to the organisation.
  • Champion agile ways of working and support iterative delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED…
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
  • Strategic experience with utilising cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid hosting, and modern architectures to solve business challenges.
  • Strong background in Workplace Technologies (Microsoft Productivity & Collaboration suite, Identity platforms, Eptura Engage, Facilities Management platforms)
  • Proven ability to set architectural vision and influence at senior levels
  • Experience leading and mentoring architecture teams
  • Strong track record of driving technology strategy and transformation

Any of the following would be a bonus…

  • Deep industry insight into the world of Workplace computing as it pertains to the financial services industry
  • Experience with utilising GenAI, Agentic technologies as they related to supporting Colleagues in the workplace
  • Config as Code and other forms of Automation such as managed governance approaches
  • Expertise in resilience and continuity, including disaster recovery and business/service continuity planning
  • Experience with the data protection, encryption and policy enforcement tooling
