Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per year + bonus and benefits

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer to join a thriving, forward-thinking building services consultancy. This career-defining role offers significant client-facing responsibility and opportunities for leadership, managing projects from feasibility through to post-occupancy. With a flexible hybrid working model, you will be part of a company delivering technically complex projects across commercial, data centre, education, and specialist facilities sectors.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering within a consultancy or contractor environment. You should have a proven track record in delivering electrical design solutions, a broad understanding of building services, and the ability to manage client relationships and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of electrical building services systems from concept through to detailed coordination.
  • Implement sustainable design principles and innovative technologies.
  • Oversee commissioning processes and ensure best practice implementation.
  • Deliver technical services on site, including contractor monitoring and quality assurance.
  • Conduct site surveys, validation exercises, and manage cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Work across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, data centres, education, residential, and specialist production environments.
  • Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a consultancy or contracting environment.
  • Experience with commercial and/or data centre projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D BIM modelling tools, and electrical load calculations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce technical reports and specifications and lead client-facing discussions.
