A local authority council is seeking a Senior Educational Psychologist to influence the strategic direction of an educational psychology service in Central London. The role involves leading projects, mentoring, and operational management. Candidates should have HCPC registration and significant experience in the field. The council values diversity and offers flexible working arrangements.
As a result of internal promotions within our service, we are looking for committed Senior Educational Psychologists to join us in our work to shape the future of our educational psychology consultation service.
The Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea Educational Psychology Consultation Service (WKC EPCS) is a visionary educational psychology service based at Kensington Town Hall in Central London. We celebrate the rich variety of experience, expertise, and approaches that exist within our team, and we have a strong history of embedding practice within our Consultation Practice Framework.
This is an opportunity to influence the strategic direction of a thriving, progressive psychology service that puts children, families, and communities at its heart. You will lead on key projects, guide and mentor colleagues, and help create a service where inclusion and wellbeing are more than just ambitions - they're embedded in everything we do.
As a Senior Educational and Child Psychologist, you will be a vital member of the leadership team, working under the direction of the Bi-borough Co-Principal Educational Psychologists to support both strategic development and day-to-day operations. Your role will blend senior responsibilities with hands-on statutory and traded work.
You will be a HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist with doctoral-level training (or equivalent) in educational and child psychology. You will also have at least four years' experience at a Professional or Senior grade level, including experience with operational management.
We are looking for someone with the ability to think strategically and develop the service's responses in a planned and logical manner. This would include the ability to analyze complex problems leading to the identification of clear action plans, and the ability to communicate such processes and outcomes in such a way that enables strategic decisions to be understood by EPs and others.
At RBKC, we're all in - investing in our people, our communities, and our future. You will join a respected, well-established Bi-borough service that values curiosity, diversity, and professional growth - where people bring a range of backgrounds and perspectives.
We offer a flexible approach to working and are happy to consider both full-time and part-time applicants. You will have a commitment to delivering psychology within the local authority context using consultation as a model of service delivery.
We are committed to promoting equality and respecting diversity and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We are a Disability Confident Employer - committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
