Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our client's team. The successful candidate will lead ecological surveys, manage projects, provide ecological advice to clients, and contribute to high‑quality reporting. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct ecological surveys and assessments across a range of habitats and species.
  • Prepare high‑quality ecological reports, including Environmental Impact Assessments and planning submissions.
  • Advise clients on ecological requirements, mitigation strategies, and compliance with legislation.
  • Manage and mentor junior ecologists and survey staff.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of ecological legislation, best practice, and emerging survey techniques.
Requirements
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years' experience in ecological consultancy or similar roles.
  • Strong field survey skills across multiple species and habitats.
  • Experience preparing reports for planning and regulatory submissions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Full driving licence (for travel across Highlands).
