Job description

Overview

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Worthing. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established manufacturing business.

Responsibilities

• Produce layout, assembly and detailed manufacturing drawings and other documentation from concept through to completion using the 2D / 3D CAD system.
• Provide standard product technical support to both customers and sales team, visiting customers as required as part of the process of winning new business.
• Prepare concept design proposals in support of winning new business opportunities.
• Work with a cross functional new product development team completing all engineering tasks required from initial idea right the way through to product launch.
• Complete engineering studies to assess the technical feasibility of new concepts or ideas.
• Assist the quality in the technical evaluation of product failures or returns.
• Generate bills of materials for both new configurations and new products.
• Provide a CAD support service to the Company creating data sheets, work instructions and marketing literature.
• Assisting in administration of the design department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a design engineering role / minimum 5 years experience
• Proficiency in CAD software (Ideally Inventor or SolidWorks)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Salary & Benefits

• Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00 & Fri 08:00-13:00
• £40,000 - £45,000
