Working within a formal design development process, you would be responsible for your own projects whilst liaising and collaborating with colleagues to ensure all projects are completed successfully. Typically working to a client's brief, but sometimes on our own technology, your days would include user & technical research, creating hand sketches to generate innovative ideas, you would then use SolidWorks to develop 3D concepts, through detailed design engineering and on into manufacturing data / drawings. We strive for efficient design and engineering to deliver successful projects so you will also make use of a wide variety of different tools and processes to solve the inevitable challenges of creating cutting edge designs.
You will have commercial responsibility and will manage significant projects and small teams of colleagues to deliver projects on time and to budget. This will regularly involve working on multiple projects in different phases of work so managing time and priorities to suit available resources and client needs will be required.
3D design and component detailing must be first class, with fully drafted plastic parts and all moulding requirements identified. Any steel and fabricated parts must be designed considering available materials and manufacturing processes from the outset. Our client’s products are of the highest quality, so our designs need to be thoroughly engineered to perform in the same manner.
