As a Senior Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing complex Section 278/38 highways schemes and providing technical leadership to a growing team. You'll be empowered to influence project outcomes, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of design delivery in line with national guidance such as DMRB and MCHW.

Key Responsibilities:
·Lead the delivery of highway design schemes, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
·Allocate resources effectively across priority tasks, managing team performance and workloads.
·Oversee technical design work, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and statutory body requirements.
·Prepare and review design information, technical reports, and contract documents.
·Contribute to the development of design standards, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
·Maintain a proactive approach to risk and health & safety, including CDM regulations.
What They're Looking For:
·Strong experience with Section 278 and Section 38 highway design schemes.
·Proven project management skills across a variety of highway and infrastructure projects.
·Confident team leadership and mentoring experience.
·Solid working knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, and drainage design using tools such as Causeway Flow and PDS.
·Experience in CAD design (Civil 3D) and preparation of contract documentation.
·Strong technical judgement and ability to liaise with key stakeholders on engineering matters.
Bonus Points If You Have:
·Membership with a relevant Chartered Institute.
·Experience with cost-estimating and commercial reporting.
·A valid UK driving licence.
