With construction activity accelerating, this hire will play a pivotal role in providing contractual leadership across some of the most complex and high-value workstreams in the programme.

The Role

As Senior Counsel, you will take the lead on Alliance Agreements underpinning major civil works packages. Additionally, you will:

  • Assume responsibility for the strategic management of mission-critical contractual frameworks.
  • Provide senior leadership within the legal team, ensuring resilience, capability and delivery against ambitious timelines.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy while acting as a trusted adviser to both the business and its consortium of investors and delivery partners.
  • Champion best practice in collaborative procurement and contracting, with particular focus on MICS (Major Infrastructure Contracting System) or equivalent models.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 8+ years’ PQE in construction and major projects, gained either in-house or at a leading private practice (ideally with secondment experience).
  • Proven track record in negotiating and managing high-value, complex construction contracts, ideally on UK or international mega-projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Alliance Agreements and collaborative delivery models.
  • Experience with MICS or similar mega-project frameworks is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the confidence to manage teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially pragmatic, resilient, and capable of operating credibly at both board and project leadership levels.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a project of genuine significance, unmatched in scale and complexity, and to help shape delivery frameworks that will undoubtedly set the benchmark for future infrastructure programmes.
