The Role
  • The Corporate Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance and support to Caterpillar’s Financial Product Division across Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, addressing a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. The role also includes monitoring regulatory compliance across the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region, working closely with the Regional Compliance Manager and Compliance Consultants to ensure alignment with evolving legal standards and business practices.
Role Responsibilities

Regional Legal Support: Provide legal counsel for Caterpillar Financial operations in Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Kazakhstan with additional support for regulatory compliance across the EAME region.

Legal Advisory & Documentation: Advise on corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation and regulatory matters; draft, review and revise legal documents with accuracy and clarity.

Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor legal and regulatory developments, assess impact on business functions and consult with management on moderate-risk issues requiring confidentiality.

Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in negotiations with external parties, including government agencies, suppliers, dealers and customers.

Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, senior attorneys, and compliance personnel to ensure consistent legal support and alignment across business units.

Strategic Legal Partnering: Act as a legal resource to senior management offering insights and recommendations that support broader functional and operational goals.

  • Resource Management: Knowledge of the resources required to achieve business objectives; ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans.
  • Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information.
  • Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting advice and assistance.
Additional Required Skills

Educational Background

A degree in law (minimum of a bachelor’s or equivalent).

Professional Experience

Bring strong post-qualification experience as in‑house counsel or in a law firm.

Industry‑Specific Legal Expertise

Experience providing legal support to a credit institution, bank, financial institution or leasing company (preferred but not mandatory).

Language & Communication Skills

Ability to work proficiently in English and bring full professional proficiency in Russian.

Strong interpersonal skills, personal accountability and a commitment to confidentiality.

Legal Certification

An active legal license or official qualification/admission to practice law as in‑house counsel as required in the relevant jurisdiction.

Job Title: Senior Corporate Counsel

Salary: 74052.00 - 96267.00 (Dependent on experience)

Contract: Full time

Hours: In office Monday - Friday full time 37.5 hours.

Benefits: 24 days annual leave

20% performance bonus (Paid quarterly)
