With over 2,000 customers and ARR that has more than quadrupled over the past year, ClickHouse leads the market in real-time analytics, data warehousing, observability, and AI workloads. ClickHouse’s incredible momentum was confirmed in its recent $350M Series C financing that included new, tier one investors, Khosla Ventures, BOND, IVP, Battery Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners. We’re on a mission to transform how companies use data. Come be a part of our journey!

We are currently expanding our Support Services team at ClickHouse, which delivers exceptional service to our customers worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join our global team, where you'll provide Consultative Support to our ClickHouse enterprise customers. The role uniquely blends hands‑on engineering, development assistance, and high‑tier support, performing functions across Consultative Support, Engineering and Support. You will work directly with a set of strategic customers, providing guidance, case answers, and technical oversight. Consulting Engineers will also be assisting with support cases for customers in our Support L1 to L3 tiers, particularly when not assigned to larger projects.

Responsibilities
  • Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): Serve as a team member on customer projects, focusing on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation. This includes research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling.
  • Consultative Support (50%): Provide case‑initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, assisting with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands‑on tasks.
  • Work as a member of the Support Team, handling L1 to L3 cases and communications when not actively assigned to customer projects.
  • Partner closely with ClickHouse Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to contribute to the product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and assist with a wide range of content, including Public and Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base articles, ClickHouse Learning, Reference Architecture, blogs, and benchmark results.
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members as we grow and scale.
  • Be available for scheduling and on‑call needs to deliver high‑quality 24x7 support in a global, distributed environment, including up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault‑tolerant, distributed database management systems ("DBMS").
  • Technical breadth and depth in relevant subjects such as DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System or Network Administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large‑scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g. EC2).
  • Experience with ClickHouse.
  • Experience with OSS and open‑source technologies, as a user, community member, or contributor.
  • Experience with Azure, GCP or AWS.
  • Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, RabbitMQ, or others.
You’ll love this role if
  • You have excellent communication skills and thrive in a customer‑facing role, collaborating closely with Support Services, Engineering, and Sales teams.
  • You are self‑driven, curious, and eager to continuously learn and grow.
  • You possess a mindset of teamwork, global engagement, empathy, and a drive for solving challenging problems.
  • You have a sense of adventure and urgency in building the most scalable, highest performing, largest, and fastest databases in the world.
