About The Role

The Senior Consultant will sit in the Balance Sheet, Portfolio and Risk advisory team within the EMEA Financial Services practice.

The Senior Consultant will assist with the execution of client projects, working closely with clients and FTI Consulting teams.

What You’ll Do

You will support clients facing crisis and transformation situations, including but not limited to:

• Balance sheet, including capital, liquidity, and funding programs
• Risk and regulatory, including supervisory remediation, financial risks, and geopolitical risks
• Portfolio and investment strategies, including transaction support, portfolio remediation, and sovereign/development fund design and set-up
• Target operating model (TOM) and cost efficiency initiatives across risk, finance, and treasury functions
• Digital and AI programs in risk, finance, and treasury functions

Your client base will include banks and their supervisors but also asset managers/owners, private markets, payments, fintechs, and sovereign/development funds.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA (or equivalent)
• Demonstrable post-graduate experience at a major consulting firm or a financial services institution

• Basic knowledge and interest in some of the following topics: balance sheet management, financial risk management, portfolio & investment strategy, target operating model, digital transformation, etc.
• Ability travel to clients and FTI office(s) both nationally and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent problem solving capabilities and knowledge of financial analysis concepts (e.g. bank balance sheet, risk modelling, asset classes, etc.)
• Excellent Excel financial modeling skills, coding capabilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills (presentation, memo, etc.)

• Team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills

• Ability and curiosity to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs
