Job summary

A leading housing provider in the UK is seeking an experienced buyer to join their in-house construction team. The role involves managing the material procurement process across multiple developments, ensuring timely supply within budget. Candidates should have experience in housebuilding, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in IT tools like COINS and Excel. This permanent, full-time role is based in either Chipping Sodbury or Tewkesbury, with some site visits required.

Qualifications

• Proven buyer experience within a housebuilding environment.
• Experience of scheduling materials such as 1st and 2nd fix timbers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of buying functions across several sites.
• Work closely with Technical and Construction teams.
• Analyse tenders and oversee material scheduling.
• Keep up to date with market trends and new products.
• Champion continuous improvement in processes.
