Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the commercial and financial management of some of the UK's most complex and high-value infrastructure projects.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial success of projects worth tens of millions of pounds - from tendering and contract negotiation to delivery, risk management, procurement, and supply chain management.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Commercial Manager you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Leading the commercial function on major projects, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Driving value through effective cost engineering, estimating, and procurement strategies.
  • Overseeing CVRs, commercial reporting, and Earned Value Management to support decision-making.
  • Representing Balfour Beatty in client and stakeholder negotiations, protecting our financial and contractual interests.
  • Managing and developing a commercial team - acting as a mentor, role model, and leader.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities while maximising digital and value engineering initiatives.
Who we're looking for
  • BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Member or Fellow of RICS, ICES or CIOB.
  • Extensive experience managing commercial teams on large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and respond to market opportunities.
