Job summary

A leading infrastructure firm in Leiston is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager. This role offers a competitive day rate and a mix of office and remote work. The successful candidate will have experience in Infrastructure or Building industries and strong knowledge of NEC contracts, aiming to lead commercial responsibilities and stakeholder engagements in a technically complex environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in highly regulated industries is also considered.
  • Ability to demonstrate a noteworthy track record is necessary.
  • Knowledge of risk management and change management is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain/commercial representative for assigned contracts.
  • Engage closely with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Make decisions in line with project governance.

Skills

Experience working within Infrastructure, Earthworks or Building & Civils industries
Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract

Track record of administering successful contracts

Overview

Senior Commercial Manager — Competitive Day Rate — Leiston. 3 days office based, 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the Nuclear Island and Conventional Island programmes, making it well-suited to candidates with a technical or engineering background.
  • Acts as the lead supply chain/commercial representative for assigned contracts, reporting to a Supply Chain Lead.
  • Operates within a multi-disciplinary team and engages closely with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, across a technically complex programme.
  • Holds delegated authority to make decisions and carry out core responsibilities in line with project governance and expectations.
  • With the SZC Project entering the contract formation phase, this is a growth opportunity for the right individual as responsibilities expand with the project's progression.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within Infrastructure, Earthworks or Building & Civils industries is essential. Other highly regulated industries will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Progressing to full membership of the RICS / CICES / IOB is preferable.
  • Able to demonstrate a noteworthy track record of administering successful contracts.
  • Understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
