Job summary
Are you an experienced Clinical Support Worker with experience of caring for children and young people? Do you want to be part of a focused, forward thinking, and dynamic multi-disciplinary team working in a dedicated children's hospital?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated proactive, enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker with relevant experience and qualifications caring for children and young people to join our team at Sheffield Children\'s NHS Foundation Trust. The Haematology and Oncology Unit comprises a 14 bedded in-patient facility, 9 bedded Day Care Unit and a very busy dedicated out-patient\'s clinic area. The thriving multi-disciplinary team includes a Bone Marrow Transplant and Apheresis Team, Paediatric Oncology Outreach Team, Late Effects Service, Haemophilia and Benign Haematology Service.
The post is initially to cover a secondment for 12 months but may become permanent.

Main duties of the job
This vacancy is in the Haematology and Oncology Day care Unit. The Unit provides a pleasant environment for children and young people to receive day case and ambulatory chemotherapy, blood product administration, undergo investigations and therapies such as apheresis and photopheresis. The Day Care Unit is open 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday. We encourage an eagerness to develop your clinical skills and have a dedicated Clinical Educator to guide and support your development. You will need to have a positive and innovative approach to caring for children and young people. You must have excellent communication skills, ability to work well under pressure, as part of a multi-disciplinary team and relate well to others.
