A fantastic opportunity is available for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the well-established Core CAMHS team in Bradford. You'll be part of a skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary service including Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers, Nurses, Support Workers and Assistant Psychologists.

Core CAMHS provides timely assessment, consultation and intervention for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, working closely with families and the wider system around the child. The service is grounded in strong clinical models, reflective practice and effective leadership.

In this role, you will contribute to established care pathways and help shape a developing Core CAMHS pathway for children with Learning Disabilities, aligned with Green Light principles. There are excellent opportunities for leadership, service development and innovation, with strong support for CPD and further training.

Main duties of the job

To be part of and contribute to the development and delivery of the Bradford Core CAMHS offer as part of the wider Children and Young people's Mental Health Service offer. Bradford CAMHS deliver services using the principles of I-Thrive and Trauma informed care in a needs led way. The team sits across Getting Help and Getting More help delivering a menu of options to meet need and support the system around the child.

• Provide specialist evidence based psychological assessment, formulation & therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies.
• Provide clinical consultation and advice to healthcare professionals across all localities.
• Support adherence to relevant NICE guidance and clinical governance arrangements.
• To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
• Work with the Team/Clinical Manager on service development, leading research and development activities.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence.
• Accreditation from a recognised professional body e.g. HCPC
• Undertaken post-qualification further training in a specialised area of psychological practice e.g. neuropsychology, CBT, CAT, DBT, solution focused therapy, analytical therapy, systemic / family work etc
• Leadership training.
• Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience.
• Training in advanced clinical supervision.
• Training in trauma informed care.

Experience

• Significant experience in relevant area of mental health practise
• Application of evidenced based specialist psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.
• Application of specialist psychological therapy within individual and group modality.
• Experience delivering psychological therapies to patients with complex difficulties.
• Clinical leadership experience.
• Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
• Experience of working within a multicultural framework.
• Experience in working systemically
• Significant post qualification experience and training.
• Involvement in clinical research programmes.
