A major teaching hospital in the UK is seeking an ST5 level candidate for an advanced training position in vascular surgery. This role includes providing training, participating in on-call vascular emergency duties, and engaging in clinical research. Candidates must demonstrate competence in vascular trauma surgery and a commitment to teaching. This initial 6 month post, renewable for one year thereafter, offers advanced training in vascular surgery. This post is designed to support the clinical activities of the Department of Vascular Surgery at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and at Bromley campus. The post is not recognised for pre-CCST training but is designed to provide advanced experience in vascular surgery.
The post holder should be at the experience level of ST5 and should be able to demonstrate experience in all aspects of vascular surgery, including competence in emergency and vascular trauma surgery. King's is a Major Trauma Centre and the post holder will participate in SpR on call vascular emergency and vascular trauma.
The department offers excellent opportunities for clinical research, and candidates with a proven research interest and track record will be preferred. Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching is mandatory.
