A leading NHS Trust in London is seeking a full-time CT3 equivalent anaesthetist. The role includes responsibilities in anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgery, pain management, and teaching in a high-fidelity simulation centre. This is a full‑time permanent post. The role is CT3 equivalent, with support in completing all key competencies set by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. Additional support with FRCA exam practice is provided through a strong departmental teaching programme. The post holder will also participate in teaching a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, medical students and Allied Health professionals in Croydon’s high‑fidelity simulation centre.
The CT3 equivalent post will offer the following:
Doctors in these posts will also be allocated named educational supervisors, attend teaching sessions and departmental quality‑improvement meetings, and be assisted in preparing for the Primary or Final FRCA exam. The SLAP (South London Anaesthetic Primary) course, exclusively run at Croydon, has achieved very high pass rates.
The post holders will additionally support the Simulation Centre by working with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver teaching across the Trust. Previous Simulation Fellows have progressed to substantive appointments and secured multiple presentations and awards.
