Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer, ideally with a background in the water sector, to join our client's dynamic team in the North West. This exciting opportunity arises from continued growth and significant work-winning success throughout 2024. You'll be working closely with project managers, construction managers, and other key stakeholders, playing a crucial role in securing and delivering vital infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tenders for clients and develop commercial bids to drive new business acquisition.
  • Develop and present comprehensive project proposals.
  • Meet with clients to ascertain and refine their requirements.
  • Produce detailed project plans and estimate associated budgets and timescales.
  • Discuss, draft, review, and negotiate the terms of business contracts.
  • Agree on budgets and timescales effectively with clients.
  • Manage construction schedules and budgets diligently.
  • Proactively address and resolve any unexpected costs that may arise.
  • Attend site meetings to monitor project progress and ensure alignment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, site managers, and project managers.
  • Collaborate with third parties to ensure clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all construction projects meet agreed technical standards rigorously.
  • Liaise effectively with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams, and client representatives.
  • Oversee final accounts at the culmination of each project.
  • Work effectively in both on-site and office environments as required.
Requirements
  • Degree or HND qualified in Construction or Project Management. Equivalent substantial work experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 / FIDIC contracts is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in understanding legal documentation.
  • Solid Maths and IT knowledge.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Proven business management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative effectively.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
