Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects, including design, planning, construction oversight, and technical analysis.
- Prepare or check technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations in all design work.
- Review and evaluate design concepts to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
- Drive continual improvement through championing improved systems and operations.
- Contribute to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Build resilient, trusting relationships with high-value clients.
- Collaborate with the wider team and clients to understand project requirements, constraints and opportunities.
- Attend design team and client meetings, contributing insights as required.
- Deliver excellent client service through effective communication, exemplar project delivery and subject matter expertise.
- Maintain high technical standards in client work.
- Actively manage and lead those reporting to you; support their professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify learning opportunities relevant to the role and those you supervise.

- Complete and submit weekly timesheets.
- Prepare estimates and quotes.

- Identify opportunities to provide resource to other departments within the business.
The ideal candidate will bring
- Proven consultancy experience with exposure to housing development, energy infrastructure, and highways.
- Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trusted, lasting relationships.
- Technical proficiency in Civil 3D design, earthworks modelling, and drainage network modelling.
- Additional knowledge in Flood Risk Assessments, CAD, and Transport Assessments is advantageous.
- Excellent report writing and project management skills, with the ability to manage workloads and deliverables independently.
- A natural mentor and coach, supporting the growth and development of junior engineers.
- The ability to collaborate effectively across teams and nurture positive internal and external relationships.
