A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking an experienced engineer to design and justify civil and structural systems for a critical nuclear facility. The role involves authoring design substantiation documents, managing design changes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must have extensive experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures, a degree in civil or structural engineering, and eligibility for Security Check clearance.
Do you have the expertise to design and justify civil and structural systems that safeguard one of the UK's most strategically important nuclear facilities? Can you demonstrate hands‑on experience producing and reviewing technical substantiation for reinforced concrete and steel structures under safety‑critical or high‑hazard conditions? Are you looking for a long‑term opportunity where your engineering decisions directly support national security and help shape the future of the Royal Navy's nuclear infrastructure?
This full‑time position (40 hours per week) is based on a secure site within a technically advanced infrastructure environment. You will be working within an embedded engineering team providing design assurance, safety justification and technical support to ongoing operations and future development programmes. Due to the nature of the work, the role requires candidates eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance.
