Job description

My client, an innovative, well-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their accomplished team of expert designers and engineers, based in the bustling, diverse city of Birmingham.

Essential Criteria:

– Extensive experience in the sector, having worked on a range of different projects within a consultancy-based role

– A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

– Demonstrable experience of leading projects within the industry, in a design capacity

– Knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements, including S104, S38, S278, etc.

– Experience of working on buildings such as schools, hospitals, and other similar projects

– Good working knowledge of cut and fill design processes

– Experience of managing stakeholders across the public and private sectors, with commercial knowledge and awareness

– Good working knowledge of a range of software packages, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, etc.

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Civil Engineer to possess the following:

– Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Body (or proactively working to attain Chartered Status)

– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

– Good time management skills, with the ability to remain flexible and adaptable

– A willingness to engage with a range of projects, with a view to developing your career

In the exciting role of Senior Civil Engineer, you will join an expert team of engineers and designers within the industry. You will be encouraged to develop your repertoire of skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The role will involve several responsibilities, including:

– Overseeing a range of design projects at all stages, from conception through to successful delivery

– Preparation of tenders and fee proposals, drawing upon commercial and technical experience

– Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies, as well as overseeing their completion by other colleagues

– Leading your team in the production of conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques) and the creation of relevant drainage plans, as well as adoptable roads and highways

– Reviewing a number of reports, calculations, and drawings

– Presenting Flood Risk Appraisals to clients, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
