Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill the following post in our nursery Childcare Team: Senior Childcare & Education Practitioner.

Responsibilities
  • Full-time Senior Childcare & Education Practitioner, 35.83 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day between 8am and 6pm).
  • Have a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality childcare and education services for a diverse range of children attending North Edinburgh Childcare’s Nursery.
  • Supervise the day-to-day work of team members and maintain an overview of the provision.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy playroom for children aged 4 months–5 years.
  • Promote learning, development and well-being by identifying and meeting care, support and learning needs, and oversee the work of others.
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment that provides opportunities for overall development and take responsibility for groups of children as required, including during outings.
  • Ensure promotion of the highest standards of practice by adhering to North Edinburgh Childcare’s policies, procedures and Competency Framework at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working in an early years setting and knowledge of key documents including Realising the Ambition: Being Me, National Practice Guidance For Scotland and the Curriculum for Excellence.
  • Ability to support others in planning, implementation and evaluation of a high-quality early learning and childcare service.
  • Must hold the relevant qualification to apply for this post.

  • Be able to work in the UK and provide the relevant documents to prove this.
Details
  • Salary – Up to £28,292.90 per annum depending on qualifications.
  • Hours – Full Time, 35.83 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day between 8am–6pm).
