A local government service provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Carer to lead a care team, ensure high-quality care, and manage support plans. The role involves supervising staff and coordinating efforts to meet customers' needs. Ideal candidates should have background experience in social care and strong leadership skills. This is a temporary position with a commitment to providing essential support to residents. Candidates must be prepared for PVG checks as required for regulated roles.
Please note that salary will be pro-rated for less than 37 hours per week. This position is temporary.

As a senior carer in East Dunbartonshire, you will be responsible for delivering high quality care, providing support and guidance to a care team, and leading by example. You will be responsible for reviewing and updating Support Plans and delivering care which meets individual customer needs and desired outcomes. You will support the planning and review of staff rotas to ensure that there is appropriate cover to provide the support required for our customers. You will supervise a group of staff including provision of supportive direct observation. You will also be part of a high performing team that is committed to providing the best experience of care for our customers.

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria.
Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR & OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
