Overview

This role is for a Senior Care Assistant to work nights at Avery Healthcare's care home in Acomb. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the care team in delivering high-quality, personalized care to residents, ensuring a safe, caring, and inclusive environment. The role requires relevant experience, qualifications, and a commitment to Avery's values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable.

Main duties
  • Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, be aware of changes impacting care and care plans, ensure new needs are met, and amend written records to reflect variations.
  • Be involved in the person-centred care planning process, incorporating implementation, monitoring, and monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change affecting care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
