Senior Care Assistant - Dartmouth

Senior Care Assistant Care and Support - The Fleet Care Home Contract: Full Time Salary: 13.00 per Hour Shift Type: Nights Contracted hours: 40 hrs per week Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

As a Senior Care Assistant on Days, you'll play a key role in leading our care team, ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care while fostering a warm, supportive environment.

You'll coordinate shifts, lead by example, and take responsibility for the performance of your team. Your leadership will help maintain a positive, person-centred culture in our home.

What You Will Do

You will lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring care staff work together to create a smooth and supportive environment.

You'll provide hands-on care, supporting residents with dressing, bathing, mobility and personal routines – always prioritising dignity and independence.

You'll manage medication administration and documentation with accuracy, while maintaining up-to-date care plans and risk assessments that reflect each resident's individual needs.

You'll play an active role in fostering open, compassionate communication with residents, their families, healthcare professionals and colleagues.

You'll welcome visitors, show prospective families around the home, and respond quickly to any emergencies.

You'll participate in training, team meetings and personal development activities, always ensuring health and safety standards are followed and concerns are escalated appropriately.
