A prominent care provider in Wetherby is looking for a Senior Care Assistant. You will lead a care team, provide personalised support, and ensure dignity and independence for residents. The ideal candidate must possess a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and experience in dementia care. Day shifts and night shifts available, 3 on 3 off rotation. You will plan and implement the kind of care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintaining the highest standards of care and acting as a positive influence on the team. You may show someone how to use a walking frame, assist someone at the end of life, or speak with a resident’s family on the phone, always with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administer medication. A key responsibility is maintaining accurate records and building strong relationships within the team. Ideally, you’ll have a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. You’ll also need strong record-keeping, time management and excellent communication with residents and co-workers.
