Job title: Senior Care Assistant

Location: 121 Darkland’s Road, Swadlincote, DE11 0PQ

Salary: £13.50 to £14.10 per hour. Pay scheme: Other. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time.

Job responsibilities

Please note that this is a full-time role working 38.5 hours per week on night shifts from 8pm to 8am. Full flexibility is required. As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do, across Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will:

  • Plan and implement care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence.
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and influence the rest of the team to deliver high standards of care.
  • Assist residents and families, such as showing how to use a walking frame, supporting end-of-life meals, and speaking with families on the phone with kindness.
  • Work with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide physical and mental stimulation via social and recreational activities and to administer medication.
  • Maintain accurate records of your work and build strong relationships with your team.

Ideal candidates will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/S/NVQ in Adult Care and are prepared to work toward Level 3 or equivalent, with a background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. Essential attributes include positive energy, the ability to get along with people, good record-keeping, time management, and kindness in all communications with residents and co-workers.

Qualifications and experience
