Full Time, Fixed Term until 10th November 2026. We are looking for this role to start asap.
The School Admissions Service is looking for a driven individual able to manage competing demands, with a proven ability to deliver first-rate customer service.
You will be a flexible person, with attention to detail and the ability to be adept at handling the kind of problems that often arise in a fast-changing, dynamic environment.
You will support the allocation of school places for pupils moving into the area and those wishing to change schools, in accordance with the admission authority's policy, including advising parents/carers about procedures in respect of school appeals.
You will administer and process emails sent to the School Admissions shared email account.
You will respond to a range of routine and more complex written and telephone enquiries from a variety of sources (internal/external) either directly or by referral to an appropriate colleague to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
You will compose, type and distribute routine & more complex correspondence. In addition, prepare more specialist/technical draft documents for approval as directed.

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
