Job summary

A well-established accountancy office in Ramsgate is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage bookkeeping and VAT responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will work closely with a small, friendly team, providing essential support to SMEs. The package includes a salary of £27-30K, 28 days annual leave, and a company pension. This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience managing bookkeeping and VAT responsibilities.
• Ability to handle multiple client accounts in practice.
• Confidently work up to trial balance.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients.
• Preparing accounts up to trial balance.
• Managing VAT returns.
• Handling accruals, prepayments, and year-end adjustments.
• Supporting tax changes for landlords and sole traders.

Skills

Strong practical bookkeeping knowledge

Experience in practice

Proficient in QuickBooks Online

Working knowledge of Xero Online

Comfortable using Excel

Experience preparing sole trader accounts

Ability to work independently

Clear communicator

Adaptable

Payroll knowledge

Education

AAT qualified

ICB qualified
