A leading healthcare provider in the UK seeks a Senior Biomedical Scientist to manage microbiology information systems and supervise laboratory staff. The ideal candidate will hold an MSc in Health Informatics and be registered with the Health Professions Council. This role offers the chance to critically contribute to infectious disease diagnostics in a supportive environment.

The post-holder is a highly experienced, state registered Senior Biomedical Scientist and performs scientific investigations in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. The role also includes managing the information and computer systems used by the Microbiology service, and acting as Information Officer in respect of requests for data searches on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Involved in the daily supervision of Biomedical Scientists and support staff. Has technical responsibility for a section of the laboratory. Scientists in this grade take charge of a section of work and will be expected to supervise and train qualified and unqualified staff. They may also work unsupervised as part of the 24/7 service.
