We are looking for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer to reinforce our South, South East and South West teams with a focus on sewer networks and combined storm overflows, in support of AMP8 investment needs.

Role purpose and responsibilities

In this role, you will: - work with and manage multidisciplinary teams of technical specialists, delivering projects in close partnership with clients and contractors - build strong client relationships to enhance our reputation and secure further work - lead the design of innovative and sustainable solutions to address storm overflows spills across client water networks - represent the company in meetings and supervise the work of more junior staff, providing technical and commercial guidance to support their development

Candidate specification

We are looking for a driven individual with strong UK wastewater infrastructure experience and the desire to take wider responsibilities.

Essential:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
  • Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution
  • Significant experience in the development and delivery of outline, feasibility and detailed design solutions for sewer networks and storm overflows within the UK water sector using appropriate calculation tools
  • Demonstrable understanding of hydraulic engineering principles
  • Commitment to professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions for combined storm overflows
  • Good understanding of designers' responsibilities under CDM
  • Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English
  • Ability to check and review technical deliverables, calculations, and reports
  • Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams including environmental, geotechnical, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers

Desirable:

  • Track record in building teams and developing junior staff
  • Experience delivering blue-green solutions
  • Understanding of process engineering applicable to storm overflows
  • Experience in preparing bids and in client engagement
