Job description

Senior / Associate Building Surveyor
We’re working with a well-regarded property consultancy that has recently opened a new office in Cambridge and is now looking to appoint a Senior or Associate Building Surveyor to support their continued regional growth.

With a Partner and a Graduate Surveyor already in place, this strategic hire will take a lead role in professional Building Surveying services, helping to shape the office’s presence across Cambridge and East Anglia - with a clear succession plan into leadership. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone confident, client-facing, and technically strong, who can hit the ground running. The current Partner specialises in Project Management, so the focus here is on bringing in a professional surveying specialist to lead on dilapidations, schedules of condition, portfolio work, and technical due diligence.

You’ll work closely with the Partner to build out the regional offering - with real autonomy and clear scope to grow the team around you.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of professional Building Surveying services: Dilapidations, Schedules of Condition, Technical Due Diligence and Portfolio instructions
  • Build and manage relationships across Cambridge and East Anglia
  • Oversee project delivery with minimal supervision
  • Mentor junior team members as the team grows
  • Support business development and long-term succession planning
What We’re Looking For
  • Already operating at Senior Surveyor level or above – this is not a newly chartered role
  • Strong technical skillset in core professional Building Surveying work
  • Confident working independently and representing the business externally
  • Ambitious mindset - open to leadership responsibilities and long-term growth
  • MRICS qualified
  • Local knowledge of the market is desirable, but not essential
Benefits include:
  • Salary: up to £70,000
  • Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the Cambridge office (flexible approach to working hours)
  • Succession plan: Clear path to step into a leadership role as the office expands
  • A chance to shape and grow a new regional office with the backing of an established consultancy
