Job summary

A local authority in Hampshire is seeking an experienced Senior Asset Management Surveyor for a maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will manage a mixed commercial investment portfolio and should hold a RICS qualification. Responsibilities include rent reviews and landlord & tenant matters. Strong communication skills and a full UK driving license are required. This is a full-time role with one day per week in the office.

Qualifications

  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Senior Asset Management Surveyor – Local Authority – Hampshire
Contract – 6 months minimum (maternity cover)
Rate: £425 per day (umbrella)
Full‑time | 1 day per week in the office
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Asset Management Surveyor to join a local authority in Hampshire on a maternity cover contract.

You will be responsible for the effective management of a mixed commercial investment portfolio, including both directly let and ground‑leased properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out day‑to‑day investment portfolio duties for commercial assets.
  • Undertake rent reviews, new lettings, lease renewals and all landlord & tenant matters.
  • Process applications for landlord’s consent, surrenders and dilapidations.
  • Provide estate management of multi‑let properties, including:
    • Service charge management and budgeting
    • Overseeing external letting agents (where appointed)
    • Debt monitoring and income management
  • Contribute to internal Project Groups where they involve your managed portfolio or require input from the Property Team.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with the organisation's constitution and RICS guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, commercial agents, internal departments and Property colleagues.
About You
  • RICS qualification (MRICS).
  • Proven experience within a commercial property environment.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of commercial leases.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
