Overview

My client are looking for an experienced Senior Architect to join their growing team, bringing expertise in commercial projects, preferably within the education, industrial, or science and research sectors. You will take a leading role in the design and delivery of complex, large-scale projects, working closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver innovative, functional, and technically robust solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident architect to lead projects across all RIBA stages and contribute to the strategic direction of a forward-thinking practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through to completion, managing all RIBA work stages.
• Take ownership of project delivery including design leadership, technical oversight, and team coordination.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements and ensure their vision is achieved.
• Oversee the preparation of design and technical documentation, ensuring quality, compliance, and accuracy.
• Manage internal teams and external consultants to maintain workflow, quality, and program.
• Conduct design reviews and coordinate interdisciplinary input, particularly with engineering teams.
• Monitor project budgets, risk, and resourcing in collaboration with project directors.

Requirements

• ARB-registered Architect with 6+ years' post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial architecture, with a preference for education, industrial, or science and research projects.
• Strong design portfolio showing leadership on technically complex buildings.
• Proficient in Revit, with strong BIM coordination skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning policy, and relevant codes.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
• Must be a British Citizen due to security clearance on projects.
