Senior Acoustic Consultant – London

Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant for their London office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished acoustics professional with strong noise and vibration expertise to take a key role in delivering high-profile consultancy projects and expert witness services. You will join a specialist team recognised for providing innovative, compliant, and practical solutions across a wide range of sectors.

The Role

As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering technical acoustic and vibration services, supporting planning and compliance work, and providing expert advice to clients. Projects will span commercial, educational, residential, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake noise impact assessments for plant, machinery, and noise-sensitive developments
  • Design and implement acoustic solutions for commercial, educational, and industrial buildings
  • Address sound insulation, acoustic privacy, and reverberation control issues
  • Develop compliant designs for open-plan offices and internal environments
  • Provide expert advice on planning appeals, disputes, and nuisance cases
  • Deliver forensic investigations and expert witness services for noise and vibration claims
  • Ensure compliance with current standards, legislation, and best practice
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and acoustic product developments
About You
  • Degree qualified in Acoustics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in acoustic and vibration consultancy at a senior level
  • Strong knowledge of noise measurement, assessment, and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident communicator, able to present technical findings to non‑technical audiences
  • Membership of the IOA or a similar professional body is desirable
