About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of Australian income tax legislation and superannuation legislation. The successful candidate will be confident in managing client relationships, leading junior team members, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely compliance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct client meetings, providing clear explanations of tax concepts in plain language
  • Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs
  • Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and compliance with ATO requirements
  • Oversee and mentor a team of junior accountants, providing guidance and technical support
  • Ensure all compliance deadlines are met efficiently and accurately
  • Manage SMSF financial statements and returns, ensuring adherence to superannuation laws and regulations
  • Assist Directors with special projects, tax advisory, and business improvement initiatives
Key Skills and Qualities
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance (CA/CPA qualified or working towards)
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian income tax legislation and SMSF compliance rules
  • 4+ years\' experience in public practice accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to clients
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior accountants
  • Proficiency in tax and accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, Class, or similar)
  • Willingness to undergo and pass a police check, background check, and social media check as a condition of employment
