The college is looking for a determined SEND Teaching Assistant/TA with the potential of a permanent position. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant/TA will be confident and adaptable in working with students with ASD needs, helping them to meet their milestones and providing 1 to 1 support. The applicant would also have to be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and work closely with teachers to support the classroom.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant/TA will have the following:

Responsibilities

• Child and Adult DBS (required) or willing to apply for one
• Experience working with PMLD and ASD college students
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• A good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Excellent classroom management
