Location: Two Specialist Sites – Driving Required | Age Range: 10–18 | Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time
About the Role

We are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support young people with global developmental delay, severe autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. This role is focused on regulation, communication, and safety, providing essential support for pupils to access personalised learning pathways.

What You’ll Be Doing Day‑to‑Day
  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support throughout the day
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
  • Implementing planned ignoring and de‑escalation techniques
  • Supporting emotional regulation before learning takes place
  • Using PECS, symbols, visual timetables, and traffic‑light systems
  • Supporting access to functional literacy, numeracy, life skills, and independence learning
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene where required
  • Maintaining consistent routines and clear boundaries
Who We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting severe autism, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
  • Emotionally resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Understanding that behaviour is communication
  • Willing to undertake Team Teach and manual handling training
  • Driver essential – may be required across both sites
